The leading cause of death in a variety of countries is heart disease. Heart disease can affect individuals of all races, ages, sex, and backgrounds. The condition affects 100’s of 1000’s of people each and every year. Thousands and 1000’s of individuals’ world-wide die from heart disease. Individuals over fifty-five are at the uppermost risk of developing heart disease. Several studies show that every decade after fifty-five, the risk of getting heart disease doubles for an individual. Studies also claim that over eight percent of individuals who die of heart disease are sixty-five years old or more. Although heart disease can affect all sorts of people, men are more disposed to developing and dying from heart disease than women. Heart disease is the result of a variety of many varying things and an individual’s lifestyle may play a factor in determining if they are at risk or not for getting the disease.
