The first thing you’re going to have to determine is how to hold the instrument. If you hold it incorrectly, you’ll be really uncomfortable and may even eventually have stress injuries from trying to Play the Violin the wrong way. To hold the violin correctly, you position your left arm underneath the body of the violin and then clutch the neck of the instrument with your left hand, curling your fingers over the neck as you do so. The chin rest of the violin should be between your chin and your left shoulder and your fingers and hand will be set over the strings. The bow will be in your right hand which will be used to bow or pick the strings.
