Why not take it on the road
My husband is a truck driver; or rather, he works for a moving company and drives. He wanted a laptop to keep track of his expenses and to have some fun. It gives him something to do when on the road. He can watch movies on it too. I got him mobile broadband pay as you go so he could go online. Then we talk on the IM if he catches me on. It is a nice way to keep in touch and it does not cost us as much as the phone calls do. I use it to on mine, so we are using the family plan for ours.
